Cloudburst in Chamoli destroys livelihood of the people
After the incident of cloudburst on Sunday evening in Lambagad (Gairsain) of Chamoli district, there was worry among the locals on Monday in the aftermath of the cloudburst. There is gloom all around. The entire village is mournful, including the deceased Badar Singh’s family in the incident. In the morning people saw their ruined farms and homes. The administration and police team reached the village to help the affected.
DM Swati S. Bhadauriya of Chamoli district left for the Gairsain from Gopeshwar this morning. She said that all possible help would be provided to the affected people as per the rules. Meanwhile, PWD machines have reached to open the route. Internet is not running in the Lambagad area. Telecommunication services are also stalled. People are waiting for the arrival of other big officials including DM.
One dead in cloudburst
During the rain in the evening in Chamoli district on Sunday evening, a cloudburst on the top of the Lambagad village of Gaissain block caused huge devastation. The road connecting the village along with the many drainage areas of the village, including the agricultural land, was completely damaged.
According to villagers, the villagers are also being told missing since the incident. After receiving the information, the team of Tehsil Administration along with the Disaster Relief and Rescue team was also rushed to the spot. On Sunday, on 3 o’clock on Sunday, a huge devastation occurred in the Lambagad and flash floods caused loss to life and property in the area.
