Helicopter carrying relief material crashes in Uttarkashi

A Helicopter carrying relief material for disaster affected areas in Uttarkashi crashed. This killed three people, including the pilot. The crashed helicopter is being reported to belong to Heritage Company. District Magistrate Dr. Ashish Chauhan visited the site in a helicopter. The team of SDRF and NDRF also reached the spot. Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat announced to give 15 lakh to the three people killed in the helicopter crash in Uttarkashi district. He said, Heli operation has been stopped at the moment. The dead bodies will be transported to where they can be handed over to their relatives.

 

Around 35 villages have been affected by the disaster in Uttarkashi’s Arakot region on Sunday morning. The bodies of 15 people have been recovered in this. At the same time, twenty people are being reported missing. Many people in the affected area have become homeless and are kept in relief camps. At the same time, rescue teams of more than 300 personnel have been engaged in relief work here since Monday in the affected area. Heli Rescue is also going on.

It is being told that the helicopter that crashed was going from Mori to Molda with relief material. Three people including the pilot were in it. The helicopter crashed into a trolley wire carrying apple boxes to the road. During this, there was also a fire. This led to the death of helicopter pilot Captain Lal, assistant pilot Captain Shailesh along with Kharsali resident Rajpal on the spot.

Relief material was not dropping in Moldi village for the last three days. The landing of the helicopter was not possible due to conditions not favorable here. Today, the government had planned to drop relief supplies from private company helicopters. During this time some material was dropped. After this the incident happened.
