Uttarakhand weather update: Yellow alert of rain in four districts including Doon

The Meteorological Center has issued a yellow alert for rain and thunder at isolated places in Dehradun, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh and Nainital districts. Apart from this, light rain may also occur in some areas of Tehri, Pauri and Haridwar districts.

Whereas there are chances of light rain in some areas of other districts also. According to the release issued by the Meteorological Center, there is a possibility of light rain in most of the districts of the state in the next two-three days.

Even after about ten days of rain, the temperature of Doon did not decrease. Doon’s maximum temperature on Friday was 34.5 degrees, which is five per cent above normal. Earlier on Thursday, the maximum temperature was recorded six degrees above normal. Due to rise in temperature, the humid heat has been troubling people a lot for the past one week.

According to Bikram Singh, Director of Meteorological Center, the weather patterns in the state may change for the next few days. There are chances of heavy rain at isolated places along with thunder and lightning in Dehradun, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh and Nainital. There may be light drizzle in other districts. The weather is expected to remain like this till September 12.

There was heavy rain in most parts of Dehradun on Friday afternoon. On Friday, it remained cloudy with bursts of sunshine in Doon since morning. It was sunny at some places in the city and dark clouds continued to hover in some areas. It rained heavily in different areas around 2:30 pm. Which provided relief from the humid heat.

However, the weather cleared again in the evening and the sun shone. Partly cloudy conditions prevailed in other districts of Garhwal, but there was no rain. On the other hand, cloud cover remained in the hilly areas of Kumaon and two to three rounds of showers were recorded.
