Portals of Hemkund Sahib opened for pilgrims

Sri Hemkund Sahib opened for the pilgrims on Friday with the first Ardas of the year. The first Ardas of the year was organized at 9 am under the leadership of Chief Granthi Bhai Milap Singh. 125 Sikh pilgrims offered prayers at the Darbar Sahib after bathing in the holy lake on the occasion of Kapatodar.

Due to corona infection, this time there were a limited number of people unlike the previous years. However, everyone who reached the pilgrimage were full of enthusiasm. Now the doors of Shri Hemkund Sahib will be closed on October 10.

The manager of Gurdwara Management Committee, Sewa Singh said that Sangat is being sent from Govindghat to Hemkund only after following the Corona protocols and the guidelines of the Central and State Government. After Govindghat, arrangements have been made to check the temperature of pilgrims, etc. in Ghangaria. After the opening of the kapat, halwa, khichdi and tea etc. were given as prasad to the pilgrims from the Gurdwara Committee.

Laxman temple doors also opened

At the same time, before the opening of Hemkund’s kapat, the doors of the temple of Lokpal Lakshman,  have been opened by people of Bhundar valley after offering Vedic pooja.

127 devotees were present during the opening of the doors. Everyone took a bath in the holy Hemkund lake and participated in the first Ardas.

The first batch of pilgrims left for Hemkund Sahib at 5.30 am on Friday morning. At nine o’clock, Gurugranth Sahib from Sachkhand was brought to the Darbar Sahib and at 10 o’clock the doors of Hemkund Sahib were opened.
