Anti-encroachment drive in Kotdwar

Based on the instructions issued by the High Court, from Wednesday, the administration started the exercise to remove encroachment in the city. This campaign stirred the market. The traders, opposing the administration’s action, demanded sufficient time to remove encroachments themselves. The administration also stopped the campaign after accepting the talk of the traders. On November 18, the High Court issued orders to remove encroachments from the Municipal Corporation’s Nazul Bhoomi and Badrinath Marg.

After this order, the municipal corporation and the administration, which came into action, issued a notice to the traders and appealed to remove the encroachment themselves. For the last two days, the municipal corporation and the administration team were also inspecting the market to warn traders. Three teams of Police, Municipal Corporation and Revenue Department were formed on Wednesday morning to carry out the drive.
