Tulip garden to be developed in Pithoragarh

Forest Department is going to make world class Tulip Gordon in Mastak Chandak of Saur Valley. After the success of the pilot project, there is a plan to prepare a Tulip Garden in 30 hectares, which will remain the center of attraction of the tourists throughout the year. Chandak, one of the most beautiful areas of Pithoragarh, can become the focal point of tourism in the coming days. As a pilot project last year, there was success in growing tulips of many species. Now the Forest Department has prepared a proposal of developing a Tulip Garden here for a year at a cost of one crore 83 lakh.

Not only this, there are also plans to prepare tulip bulbs here. In India, tulip bulbs are usually sourced from Holland. DFO Vinay Bhargava, said that the DPR of the project is ready. Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat is very excited about this, given that it seems that there will be no problem in the Tulip Garden coming into existence.

If the forest department is successful in preparing tulips at the local level then it is certain that there will be many benefits. According to the department’s plan, the landscape will be decorated with tulips for three months in a year.  The local flowers and herbs will enhance its beauty.

With the operation of Tulip Garden on community basis, local people will also get employment opportunities. Pithoragarh has immense possibilities of tourism. Perhaps this is the reason why Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat is also showing great interest in the project. In such a situation, many people will be benefited by the implementation of this project, as well as this area will also be established in the tourism map.
