5 dead as car falls into gorge on Rishikesh-Badrinath highway

The news of the death of 5 members of the family has come to light after a car fell into a 250-metre gorge on the Rishikesh-Badrinath highway in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. At the same time, after getting the information, the police and SDRF team reached the spot, after hard efforts, all the dead bodies were pulled out from the gorge. This accident happened near Totaghati on Rishikesh-Badrinath Highway. While all the deceased are said to be residents of Bak village of Chamoli district. According to the information, three women and two men were in the car, who were returning home after shopping for marriage from Meerut in Uttar Pradesh.

As per reports today (Sunday) morning Tehri Garhwal Police received information that a car with Bachelikhal, about five kilometers ahead of Kaudiyala, had fallen into a deep gorge. After this, the SDRF teamĀ  and the police was sent towards the spot. Whereas the police and SDRF had to face a lot of trouble due to the depth of the gorge. All the bodies have been sent to Srinagar hospital.

According to the information, all the deceased are residents of Bak village in Chamoli district, who were going back to their village after shopping for marriage. Meanwhile, the car fell into a ditch near Totaghati on the Rishikesh-Badrinath highway.
