Road safety world series: Doonites treated to vintage Sachin performance

With some respite from the rains, the second match of the Road Safety World Series was played in Doon on Thursday. The players of India Legends and England Legends were face to face in this match. Before the start of the match, the stadium reverberated with the slogans of Sachin… Sachin… Along with this, cricket lovers cheered for India in the stadium on every four and six.

There was a lot of enthusiasm among the cricket lovers who were eagerly waiting for the international match. Where on one hand the tricolor was seen waving in every corner of the stadium. The 25,000-capacity Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium was full of spectators. Under the series, the six matches to be held in Doon were to start from September 21.

According to the schedule, the match was played between India Legends and England Legends team on 22nd September at 7.30 pm. Governor Lt Gen Gurmeet Singh (Sen.) and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Sports Minister Rekha Arya were present during the toss. Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar tossed the coin.

Due to two consecutive days of rain, there was moisture in the ground. Even after laying soil and grass in the field for about seven hours, the moisture did not decrease. The effect of which was also seen on the match which started at nine o’clock. The match was reduced to 15 over a side game. Indian Legends got off to a blazing start courtesy vintage Sachin Tendulkar performance. The opening pair added 65 runs in 5.3 overs. Sachin was the highest scorer for both sides in the game scoring 40 runs at a strike rate of 200. He hit 3 fours and 3 sixes in his innings.

At the same time, Sixer King and former Indian team all-rounder Yuvraj Singh took India to 170 with some big striking. The south-paw hit 3 sixes in his 15 ball 31 run innings.

In reply, the England Legends team could score 130 runs in their allotted overs for the loss of 6 wickets. Rajesh Pawar was the top bowler for India Legends picking up 3 wickets.

During this, fans were excited to take selfies with the players of India Legends. There was a lot of enthusiasm and enthusiasm among the people to see the glimpse of the talent of Sachin, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina and others.
