Dehradun Nagar Nigam approves new rate of filing property records

The mutation (ownership change) fee of properties in Doon Municipal Corporation area has become many times costlier. This proposal has been approved in the board meeting of the Municipal Corporation. This fee has been increased after 24 years. This fee has been made from one thousand to 50 thousand rupees.

So far, the cancellation fee for all categories of properties in the Municipal Corporation area was only Rs 150. This fee was fixed in 1999. Whereas, sending notice by post to Doon Municipal Corporation for change of ownership used to cost Rs 35. The cost of sending the notice from outside was Rs 90. Meanwhile, the Municipal Corporation prepared to increase the filing rejection fee and formed a committee, which made a proposal by fixing the fee. This proposal came in the board meeting on Thursday, which was passed. The new rates will be applicable in a week.

Plan will be made for weekly markets

In the board meeting of the Municipal Corporation, a proposal was also made to reduce the fee of five thousand rupees fixed for setting up the weekly markets, but the councilors were not of the same opinion regarding the setting up of the market. Some councilors said that the business of the local shopkeepers is getting impacted due to the weekly market, while some have supported the setting up of the weekly market. On this, Mayor Sunil Uniyal Gama said that a separate meeting for the weekly market would be considered.

Now this much will be the filing fee for properties

Charges for mutation of residential property

  • Property up to the value of Rs 07 lakh 2,000
  • Property worth 07 lakh to 15 lakh 4,600
  • Property worth 15 lakh to 50 lakh 6,000
  • Property between 50 lakh to 1 crore 20,000
  • Property worth more than one crore 30,000

Five thousand filings are rejected every year in the Doon Municipal Corporation area, four to five thousand filings are rejected every year, it used to generate revenue of seven and a half lakhs, but now after increasing the rate, the Municipal Corporation gets more than five crores from this. Annual revenue is expected.

Charges Filing for non-residential and commercial property

  • Property worth up to Rs 20 lakh 8,000
  • Property worth 20 lakh to 40 lakh 15,000
  • Property worth 40 lakh to 80 lakh 25,000
  • Property worth more than 80 lakhs 50,000
