Rafting activities resume in Rishikesh

After four months in Rishikesh, rafting operations finally started in the Ganges valley from Sunday. On the first day, two kayaks were launched in the Ganges as a trial. During this, Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj and Agriculture Minister Subodh Uniyal duly inaugurated by offering prayers at Munikireti. Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj said that Uttarakhand has immense potential for adventure tourism along with religious tourism. Which the government is trying to find.

He said that the government is considering promoting winter tourism. Winter tourism will also provide employment to the local youth of Uttarakhand. Agriculture Minister Subodh Uniyal said that this time the rafting business is expected to increase.

Now the pace of Corona has also slowed down and with the opening of Chardham Yatra, tourists are arriving from outside provinces. Raft traders have appealed to the government that even those in the age group of ten years should get exemption in rafting. On which Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj has assured of his efforts.
