Char Dham Yatra 2025: Green card application process for commercial vehicles started
The process of making green cards for Char Dham Yatra 2025 has started. All the commercial vehicles coming for the yatra have to apply for the green card.
Chardham Yatra 2025 Green Cards Registration Starts
Preparations for the Chardham Yatra starting from 30 April are in full swing. Now the Transport Department has made green cards mandatory for commercial vehicles for Chardham Yatra. Vehicle owners will have to apply for green cards, which has started from April 10. The date for making green cards was earlier fixed as April 2 by the Transport Department, but due to technical problems in the software, this process could not start on time. But now the process of making green cards has been started. Green card for vehicles of more than 12 seats from other states will be valid for only 15 days, whereas green card for vehicles from Uttarakhand will remain valid for full six months like every time.
Green card for commercial vehicles
During the Chardham Yatra, a large number of devotees reach the Dhams through commercial vehicles. In such a situation, keeping in mind the safety of the devotees, the government issues green cards for commercial vehicles. Due to which all the information related to the vehicle is available with the government. To make a green card, first of all the vehicle owners have to take their vehicle to the transport office where physical inspection of the vehicles will be done.

In the physical inspection of vehicles, mainly these things are seen like: – The tires of the vehicle should not be torn or worn out, all the certificates of the vehicle should be valid, it is mandatory to have first aid box, GPS system, wooden or iron block, dustbin or vomiting bag in the vehicle. Only after which the transport department has to give consent to apply for green card. After passing all the tests, the commercial vehicle owner is provided with a Green Card by applying on the website greencard.uk.gov.in.
