SDG Awards 2022: CM Dhami honors 17 Individuals and Organizations

Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami honored 17 individuals and organizations with SDG Achievers Award in a program organized in Dehradun on Wednesday. In which 12 organizations and 05 individuals were honored. On this occasion, the Chief Minister announced that in view of the spirit of competition among the districts to fulfill the Sustainable Development Goals by the year 2030, “SDG Achiever Trophy” will be awarded from this year in which winners and runners-up of all the 13 districts will be declared. To implement it up to the Panchayat level, by the year 2030, 17th September to 23rd September will be celebrated as SDG Week. In which workshops, public awareness programs, debate competitions will be organized in all development blocks, panchayats, schools, districts and state level.

Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami said that everyone will have to make combined efforts to achieve the goal of development. To make Uttarakhand self-reliant, everyone will have to make coordinated efforts. Many institutions and individuals are doing better work in the social, economic and environmental fields. All of them are brand ambassadors of the development of the state. We all have to move forward together to make Uttarakhand a great state. Development is necessary by maintaining a balance between ecology and economy. Better work is being done towards sustainable development goals in the state. He also expressed the need for more efforts to bring Uttarakhand into the category of leading states in the SDG Index.

Congratulating the individuals and institutions who were honored, the Chief Minister expressed hope that this will inspire other people and institutions as well. He said that he himself gets inspired after meeting people working for the society and country. He said that sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Uttarakhand government is also continuously striving for sustainable development. The state government is moving on the path of achieving the goal by keeping the mantra given by the Prime Minister ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas’ at its core. The state government is continuously working under the guidance of the Prime Minister to make Uttarakhand the best state of the country.

Garhwal Hills Cooperative Ltd., Pauri and Mr. Jagmohan Singh Rana for zero poverty under SDG 1, Dr. Surbhi Jaiswal and Mrs. Khasti Koranga for zero hunger under SDG 2, Aarohi Foundation for good health and well-being under SDG 3, Bhagirathi Foundation for quality education under SDG 4, Creative Women’s Forum and Divin Pro for Gender Equality under SDG 5, Naula Foundation for Clean Water and Sanitation under SDG 6, Uttaranchal Youth and Rural Development Center Chamoli for Economic Growth under SDG 8, Devki Devi of Pithoragarh for Industry and Innovation under SDG 9, Gram Panchayat Raigi for consumption and production under SDG 12, Agri-Net Foods and Beverages Pvt. Ltd. and Shri Jagdish Singh Negi Shipra Kalyan Samiti, Nainital for climate change under SDG 13,  Shri Chandan Singh Nayal  for Life on land under SDG 15 and Darpan Committee and Card organization for Peace and Justice under SDG 16, were honored with SDG Achiever Award 2023.

On this occasion, former Chief Secretary and Chairman of the Jury Shri N. Ravi Shankar, Secretary Shri R. Meenakshi Sundaram, UNDP representative Isabelle Tschan, Additional Chief Executive Officer of CPPGG Dr. Manoj Kumar Pant were present.
