Dehradun-Haridwar toll tax to increase from today

Toll tax will increase at Lachhiwala toll plaza on Dehradun-Haridwar highway from today. Car-jeep toll tax will be increased from Rs 95 to Rs 100. There will be an increase in toll from three to six and a half percent. The increase in tax will also affect the fare and freight of roadways buses. Toll tax is increased every year on April 1 by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI). This time NHAI had made the rates of toll tax public a week in advance. Now the new rates are to be implemented from Saturday. Apart from this, the Municipal Corporation Dehradun has increased the cleaning user charge under Door to Door Garbage Collection. The increased rates will be applicable from April 1.

The tax will increase by Rs 5 to Rs 40 depending on the category of vehicles. Due to costlier toll, passenger fare and freight may increase. Fares may also increase in roadways buses. Not only private car drivers, passengers traveling by bus-taxi will also be affected.
