Indo-Nepal border at Tanakpur opened after 11 months

The Indo-Nepal (Brahmadev) international border adjoining Tanakpur, which has been closed for the past 11 months due to Corona, has finally opened for normal traffic. Now the citizens of India and Nepal can move freely from here. On Saturday, a meeting was held between India and Nepal administration at Brahmadev. Officers of both countries responded positively to the movement of the border in general. At the same time, the district administration had allowed movement at Banbasa border three weeks ago as per the conditions of registration and Covid report.

But in spite of this, due to unavoidable reasons, the status quo remained on the Tanakpur barrage and Brahmadev border. But all the problems have been put to rest in the local administration’s meeting with the Nepal authorities on Saturday. Now people going from Tanakpur barrage to Brahmadev do not need a registration or a Covid report. Now, devotees who come to Purnagiri Dham after opening the borderĀ  will now be able to easily visit Siddhababa without stopping. The administration has asked the SSB and CISF not to impose strictures on people moving across the border.

The Indo-Nepal border adjoining Tanakpur has also been opened for normal traffic. During the meeting in Brahmadev on Saturday, officials of both countries have agreed to this. Visitors will not have to show any kind of registration or Covid report. People can now move through the border as before.
