Fire at Shishambara waste plant rages on for third day

The fire at Shishambara Solid Waste Management Plant could not be extinguished even after 45 hours on the third day. The fire brigade team is continuously trying to douse the fire with five vehicles. But the plant is still burning fumes. The smoke rising from the plant remained in the surrounding villages from Selakui till nine in the morning.

Due to the smoke, people have started feeling suffocated and are having difficulty in breathing. At the same time, the fire department is finding it difficult to douse the fire completely. The FSO says that it is difficult to extinguish the fire completely. At the same time, the anger of the people of the area is increasing due to the fire in the plant and the foul smell emanating from it.

People have announced not to allow garbage vehicles to enter the plant on Wednesday. A fire broke out at the Solid Waste Management Plant located at Shishambara at 12 noon on Monday. The fire has assumed a formidable form. The fire brigade team is engaged in dousing the fire with five vehicles since the day of the incident.

But on the third day of the fire, 45 hours have completely passed. The fire brigade team is working day and night to extinguish the fire. But the fire is not extinguished. Millions of tons of junk has caught fire till the inner surface. Due to which, despite continuously extinguishing the fire, the fire in the garbage inside the plant is smoldering.

Due to the fire, the smoke of the plant has spread over Shishambara Plant as well as Selaqui Bazar, Singhniwala, Sherpur, Medinipur, Bayankhala, Hasanpur Kalyanpur. Due to the smoke of the fire in the plant during the summer season, people are feeling suffocated as well as having difficulty in breathing.
