Schools to remain closed in Dehradun on 7 August due to heavy rain alert

All public and private schools of Dehradun will remain closed on Wednesday, August 7 in view of heavy rain alert. Due to heavy rain alert issued by the MeT department for Uttarakhand, DM Dehradun announced closure of all schools and Anganwadi centers in the district on August 7.

The weather in Uttarakhand has created many woes. On Tuesday, the debris reached in the homes of people due to cloud burst in Gairsain of Chamoli district. This damaged four cowsheds and one school kitchen. Three cattle have been reported buried under the debris. Here, the journey on travel routes remains difficult. The State Meteorological Center has again issued an alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall in seven districts within the next 24 hours.
