Over 4000 crore allocated in budget towards Rishikesh-Karnprayag railway line

For the ambitious Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail line project of Uttarakhand, the central government has made a budget provision of Rs 4200 crore. This amount is proposed for the year 2021-22. Due to the granting of this budget, the construction of the railway line will continue at a smooth pace. The government has targeted to complete the work of Karnprayag-Devprayag block section by the year 2024-25.

CM Trivendra Singh Rawat thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Railway Minister Piyush Goyal for making budgetary provision for the Rishikesh-Karnprayag railway line. CM said that on the directions of PM, there has been rapid work in the field of connectivity in the state with the cooperation of the central government. The dream of rail in the mountain is also going to come true soon.

The CM said that under the Rishikesh Karnprayag rail project, the new Rishikesh station has been completed. Trains have also started operating from this newly constructed station. Work is going on fast in other places also. For this year, the project will be completed in timeframe with the proposed Rs 4200 crore in the budget.

Rishikesh-Karnprayag railway line

The Rishikesh-Karnprayag railway line is undergoing rapid work. CM Trivendra Singh Rawat himself is monitoring it regularly. Recently, important decisions have also been taken to overcome the problems faced in railway line construction. The work of the Virbhadra-New Rishikesh block section has been completed. One ROB and one RUV have also been prepared in Rishikesh. Under the project, the 17 tunnel works are divided into 10 packages.

RoB on Alaknanda River in Lachhmoli and Srinagar The work of has been started. Road bridge work is also in progress in Srinagar, Gauchar and Sewai. A target has been set to complete the work of Rishikesh-Devprayag block section by 2023-24 and Devprayag-Karnprayag block section by 2024-25.

Chardham’s rail development will also be decided soon

Along with the Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail line project, four railway line announcements are also underway to connect Kedarnath, Badrinath, Yamunotri and Gangotri to the railway line. This alignment is approximately 327 km long.
