Dehradun RTO likely to resume work from June 8

There is a good news for those who applied for driving license in Dehradun. From June 8, the work in the RTO office may start. Permission has been given to settle pending works of learning driving license, fitness, tax and vehicle transfer etc. From next week i.e. June 8, work will start in RTO with limited numbers. Apart from this, the Transport Department is also preparing to resume the test of learning license. This will give a big relief to those people who have been waiting for the last several months to get a driving license. Last year too, due to the Corona lockdown, the work of learning driving license was stopped for five months. Later, under Unlock-2, the work of making permanent license started from July 20, but in view of the danger of infection, the work of learning license remained closed. A limited number of learning license tests were started from August 14. Somehow the work was gaining momentum until April this year, when the second wave of Corona started wreaking havoc. After which the work of making the license came to a standstill from April 22. The entry of people in the office has been banned since April 27.

In such a situation, about 25 thousand applications for other works including about 10 thousand applications for license are pending. There is a plan to resume work in RTO from next week to clear the pending work. RTO administration Dinesh Chandra Pathoi told that a meeting has been called on June 5. In which a decision will be taken on determining the daily number of works. The work in RTO was closed since April 27, but from last week the work of registration of new vehicles and temporary permits has been started. Due to the closure of the office, the backlog of licenses has increased significantly. The demand for re-introducing the license test is increasing. It is believed that from June 8, the work of test, fitness, registration and permit of learning and permanent license can be resumed in RTO.
