AIIMS Rishikesh to close General OPD from 24 Jan as Corona cases rise; telemedicine to continue

In view of the ever-increasing cases of corona virus infection, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh Hospital Administration has decided to close the General OPD facilities from the coming Monday. This decision has been taken due to the increasing congestion in the hospital, corona infection. Therefore, except emergency patients, all other normal level patients will be seen through telemedicine OPD.

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh has decided to stop General OPD services from Monday. In view of the ever-increasing graph of Covid infection by the Medical Superintendent’s office, general patients have been advised to take advantage of the telemedicine services of AIIMS while protecting themselves from Covid infection. AIIMS administration said that all types of emergency services in the hospital have been continued 24 hours as before. The staff working in AIIMS have also been instructed to follow 100 percent COVID guidelines.

Emergency services will operate at uninterrupted speed for 24 hours

Professor Ashwani Kumar Dalal, Medical Superintendent of the institute said that the general OPD services will be closed from Monday, while the emergency services will be operated 24 hours a day with uninterrupted speed. He said that apart from this, for those patients suffering from cancer who are already undergoing treatment and who require chemotherapy and radiotherapy, both these services will also continue as before.
