Multiple road accidents in Uttarakhand claimed 17 lives. In Champawat, 14 people returning from a wedding died after the vehicle returning from the procession fell into a gorge. At the same time, three people have died after a vehicle fell into a gorge in Kotdwar. Three people have been confirmed dead in this accident. The teachers were going to school in this vehicle. All the teachers in the car commuted on this route daily. At around 9.30 am on Tuesday, the vehicle of teachers going from Kotdwar to their schools fell into the gorge. Three people have died in this. The accident happened while going from Kotdwar towards Gumkhal. Police and rescue teams had reached the spot.
Meanwhile, a major accident that took place in Uttarakhand late on Monday took 14 lives. Last night around 3.20 am, the vehicle fell into a deep gorge after losing control.
In the Danda area of Champawat district, a vehicle returning from a wedding ceremony fell into a gorge on Monday night, killing 14 of the attendees. There was a marriage in a family at this place, about 65 km from Champawat. Police and rescue team are on the spot after getting information about the accident. 13 bodies have been pulled out of the site. Two people seriously injured in the accident have been brought to the district hospital for treatment.
14 out of 16 people died in a vehicle accident on the Sukhidhang-Dandaminar road attached to the Tanakpur-Champawat highway. The seriously injured driver and another person have been brought to the district hospital for treatment. According to the information received till now, all the people in the vehicle were returning home after attending the marriage held in Panchmukhi Dharamshala of Tanakpur.
