Mass hysteria incident reported in government school in Champawat district

In Champawat’s Atal Utkrisht GIC Reetha Sahib, a case of students screaming and fainting has come to light. On Tuesday and Wednesday, 29 girl students and three boys suddenly fainted reportedly. The education department is considering it as mass hysteria. The health department has been requested for counseling of the students. Although the parents are calling it divine wrath.

Former BDC members Kundan Singh Bohra and Chatur Singh Bohra told that in the fifth period which started after the interval on Tuesday, 24 girl students from ninth class to inter started shouting one by one. They fainted immediately after crying. After some time of giving water, the girl students regained consciousness. Five other girl students fainted on Wednesday as well.

One by one 29 girl students and 3 boys fainted. Where the parents are calling it divine wrath, the education department has called it an incident of mass hysteria. The Education Department has asked the Health Department for counseling of the students. There was an atmosphere of fear in the school. The girls fainted after crying, however their condition became normal after being given water.

This is not the first time such an incident has been reported in Uttarakhand, earlier in July this year, several students were in Bageshwar district had shown similar behavior.
