Modern Doon Library gets ready of reading enthusiasts

If you live in Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand and are fond of reading, then Modern Doon Library Dehradun has been prepared for you in Dehradun city. Soon it will be opened for the readers. Under the Dehradun Smart City Project, this library has been built at Lansdowne Chowk near Parade Ground. Books, newspapers, magazines as well as e-reading will also be available in this four-storey building.

The work of building Modern Doon Library was started on 15 November 2019. This library, built in an area of 3000 square meters, has seating arrangements for 500 to 600 readers. A budget of about Rs 13 crore was received to make it. At the same time, the Modern Doon Library has been made equipped with high technology. In this, along with the facility of e-reading, books, newspapers and magazines of many subjects will be available.

With some of the top educational institutions in the country, Dehradun has plenty of avid readers and the mordern Doon library will be a boon for them.

Sonika, CEO of Smart City and District Magistrate of Dehradun told that the work of Modern Doon Library has been completed. Now the books are being shifted in it. It will be started as soon as the management work is completed.

How to reach Modern Doon Library?

Dehradun’s largest library ‘Modern Doon Library’ is located at Lansdowne Chowk and is well connect by public transport through Parade ground and Darshan Lal Chowk. It can also be easily reached with the help of sharing auto.
