School, Colleges closed ahead of Ayodhya verdict

Dehradun DM C Ravi Shankar and SSP Arun Mohan Joshi held an emergency meeting with police and administration officials on Friday in view of the Supreme Court’s Ayodhya Ram temple decision. The meeting directed that Section 144 has been implemented in many areas of the capital. Along with this, the police force has been deployed in mixed populated areas. In this situation, anti-social elements and rumor mongers will also be dealt with vigorously.

DM Ravi Shankar and SSP Joshi held a meeting of police-administration officers at the police office at around twelve o’clock on Friday night. DM C Ravi Shankar said that the Supreme Court’s verdict on the Ram temple is coming on Saturday, provocative posts will be monitored on social media, strict action should be taken against those who spread the rumors. Such elements should be identified and special monitoring done. Along with the police, the administration officers should also be ready. He said that Section 144 has been implemented in mixed population, very sensitive and sensitive areas. A crowd of four people should not be gathered at such places.

The city is divided into 11 zones and 25 sectors, where a magistrate is deployed along with the police. Those who can take immediate decision to deal with any emergency. SSP Joshi said that in terms of security, the police force will be deployed at every corner of the capital. 4 SP, 9 CO, 25 Inspector / SO, 180 Inspector, 300 Head Constable, 700 Constable and 200 Women Constable and six Company PAC armed have been deployed for the security in Doon. He instructed to activate intelligence agencies and informant system. Joshi directed all the police in-charges to deploy police forces in their respective police station area. Strictly warned that if there is a lapse in security, strict action will be taken against the concerned.

Internet could be shut down if needed

DM C Ravi Shankar and SSP said in a strong tone that Internet system is operational in the district right now. If unnecessary posts, pictures, provocative statements were made viral on social media, the internet can also be closed in the district. At the same time, a lawsuit will be filed against those posting in Criminal Act with IT. He appealed to the public to avoid it. Arun Mohan Joshi (Senior Superintendent of Police, Dehradun) said that one should respect the decision of the Supreme Court in the Ayodhya Ram temple case.
