Congress declares candidate name for Champawat by-elections

After a long discussion, the Congress has finally declared the face of its candidate from Champawat assembly seat. Nirmala Gahatodi will stand challenge CM Pushkar Singh Dhami for Champawat seat. On May 4, the notification of the by-election has been issued and the nomination papers were also being taken, but on which face the Congress will show faith in the by-election, the mystery was not revealed. Yesterday, the party high command finally revealed the candidate.

In the by-election in Champawat assembly seat, Congress has bet on a woman candidate in front of CM Dhami. Party’s state president Karan Mahra had indicated that the party may decide the name of the candidate by Friday. Polling for Champawat by-election is to be held on May 31. Its notification was issued on May 4. After that the process of enrollment started. May 11 is the last date for nominations.

The Central Election Committee of BJP has declared Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami as the candidate for the by-election to Champawat assembly seat. The party’s national general secretary and headquarters in-charge Arun Singh gave information in this regard. Dhami will file his nomination on May 9. Many party veterans will gather on this occasion.
