Ganga crosses warning level in Rishikesh

Heavy rain continue in many parts of Uttarakhand. Since last Tuesday, the water level of Ganga is increasing and decreasing. The water level of Ganga crossed the warning mark on Wednesday. Due to which the piers got submerged. After crossing the warning mark of Ganga, the possibility of flood in UP also cannot be ruled out. People living in low-lying areas have been appealed to be vigilant.

The administration is also on alert mode. Special vigilance is being exercised in low-lying areas including flood-affected areas. On the other hand, rains in Rishikesh after several days have brought relief to the people from the humid heat. The Ganges was in spate on Wednesday due to rain in the mountainous region.

In the afternoon, the water level crossed the warning mark of 339.50 meters. The Aarti place at Triveni Ghat got submerged. When the water level increased, the administration stopped the bathers on the banks from going to the piers. The administration alerted the people living in the coastal area. Meanwhile, other rainy rivers including Chandrabhaga, Saung were also in spate due to rain.
